ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College volleyball team saw its win streak snapped at four matches in a 3-1 loss at Macalester on Monday by the scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-20.
The Knights lost the first set, and then fell behind 8-2 in the second, but rallied to tie the match 1-1.
The Scots seized momentum back with a strong third set, and then pulled away in the fourth, scoring seven of the final nine points to close the match.
Kira Grev had a big night playing all over the court, finishing with 23 assists, 12 kills and 12 digs.Â
Jade St. Germaine was the top MLC hitter with 18 kills and hit .308 on the attack, but the Knights were unable to get anything going away from their outside hitters.Â
Ruth Buchholz led MLC with seven blocks, while
Megan Lemke and
Taylor Weber each finished with nine digs.
The Knights fell to 8-12 on the season in defeat, while Macalester improved to 7-9 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Wednesday, October 5, when it hosts North Central in a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
