NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team lost 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23) at St. Olaf on Monday in non-conference action.
The Knights opened the match with a 25-22 first-set win, but were unable to take that momentum into the second set, which the Oles won 25-19 to even the match.
Both teams battled back and forth in the final two sets, but the Oles were able to win the key points down the stretch in both games to win in four.Â
Jade St. Germaine led MLC with 13 kills, while
Kira Grev and
Grace Schultz added 11 and six kills, respectively.
Rylee Weisensel and
Ruth Buchholz each finished with five kills and five blocks.
Emily Neeb led the team with 13 digs, and
Emily Byhardt finished with a team-best 24 assists to go with ten digs.
MLC fell to 9-15 on the season in defeat. St. Olaf improved to 9-12 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Friday, October 14, when they travel to UW-Eau Claire for a two-day tournament. MLC will face off against UW-River Falls (3 p.m.) and St. Thomas (5 p.m.) on Friday.Â
