NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team shut out Bethany Lutheran College 1-0 in a non-conference game Tuesday.

The shutout was the Knights' fourth in a row, as MLC keeper Caleb King stopped both shots he faced and now has not allowed a goal in more than 392 minutes of game action. That four-game shutout streak is the longest by any goalie in MLC men's soccer history. 

Ryan Plath, Eric Dorn, Nathan Graumann and Elijah Kroll kept the Vikings away from King for most of the day, allowing only five shots in total over 90 minutes. 

The Knights dominated the stat sheet, outshooting the Vikings 25-5 overall and 12-2 on goal, but struggled at times to connect passes and keep possession. Joseph Graumann helped bust the Knights out of a slow start with the game's only goal in the 15th minute, as he dribbled around several BLC defenders up the right side before sending a shot into the Viking goal. The goal was Graumann's fourth this season.

Aaron Swanson was active on the offensive end, finishing with a team-high five shots. Ethan Schultz finished with four shots, three of which were on goal.

MLC improved to 8-4-1 on the season with the win. BLC fell to 0-13 in defeat. 

These two teams will get right back on the pitch at BLC on Thursday, October 13, when they play a make-up game originally scheduled for September 21, but was postponed due to rain. That game will count towards the conference standings, and is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
