NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost a non-conference game against Hamline 4-0 on Tuesday.
The Pipers took control of the game early, scoring in the sixth minute to take a 1-0 lead.
After adding a second goal in the first half, Hamline scored twice more in the second, the last of which came in the 89th minute to get the final margin.
The Knights played as much of the roster as possible, as 28 different players saw the field for MLC. The Knights finished with three total shots, two of which were taken by
Hailey Johnson.Â
Julia Barthels (five saves, two goals),
Sarah Rigge (six saves, one goal) and
Maria Tomassetti (one save, one goal) combined in goal for MLC to stop 12 of the 16 Hamline shots on goal.
MLC fell to 4-12 this season with the loss, while Hamline improved to 9-5-1 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Thursday, October 20, when they travel to Presentation for a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
