NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team swept Crown 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-12) in the home finale on Wednesday.
The Knights dominated the first and third sets, hitting .457 and .467, respectively, in those two sets.
The Storm led for much of the second set with the help of six service aces, but the Knights scored 12 of the final 14 points.Â
MLC hit .361 for the match, led by a strong performance from
Grace Schultz, who recorded ten kills and hit .556 on the attack.
Jade St. Germaine led the team with 13 kills and hit .500, while
Ruth Buchholz hit .800 and finished with four kills to go with two blocks.
Emily Neeb received a plaque before the match for recording 1,000 career digs earlier in the season, and led the team in that stat once again with 16 digs on Wednesday.
Emily Byhardt was led the Knights with 20 assists.
MLC improved to 10-20 on the season and 5-2 in UMAC play with the win. Crown fell to 3-22 overall and 0-7 in league play in defeat.
The Knights will close the regular season on Friday, October 28, when they travel to Northwestern for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
