DULUTH, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team lost both games of a triangular on Saturday at St. Scholastica, losing 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-19) to CSS to open the day, and then lost 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17) to Hamline in the second match.

St. Scholastica gave the Knights their first conference loss of the season to open the day by the scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 25-19.
The Saints hit .359 on the attack for the match, while MLC struggled to an attack percentage of .061.
MLC outside hitters
Jade St. Germaine and
Kira Grev entered the match on a roll, but the Saints were able to hold both players to a negative attack percentage in the match.Â
Rylee Weisensel was the top MLC hitter with six kills and an attack percentage of .417.
Emily Neeb and
Emily Byhardt each finished with eight digs to lead MLC.
Hamline 3, Martin Luther 1
Hamline was able to get the best of the MLC in the nightcap, winning the final three sets to take the match in 3-1.
The Knights won the first match 25-23, but struggled the rest of the way as the Pipers won the final three sets.
St. Germaine led MLC with ten kills and hit .212, while
Grace Schultz added eight kills and hit .188.
Nebb led MLC with 18 digs, while and Byhardt added 15 and 12 digs, respectively.
MLC fell to 9-14 overall, and 4-1 in UMAC play, following the two defeats.
The Knights will return to action on Monday, October 10, when they travel to St. Olaf for a non-conference match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
