NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team closed the month of December with an 86-60 loss to UW-Superior on Saturday.
The Knights trailed by six after the first quarter, and the Yellowjackets' showcased their depth from that point, outscoring the MLC bench 37-8 as they built on the lead.
The Yellowjackets shot 54.7 percent, including 7-15 from the three-point line. UWS also enjoyed a 53-33 advantage in rebounds.
MLC finished the game shooting 31.9 percent from the field, and struggled beyond the arc (2-17).
Jade St. Germaine led MLC with 15 points, while
Grace Schultz and
Mariah Schoof added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Schultz also swiped five steals.
The Knights fell to 2-9 on the season and 2-3 in league play with the loss. UWS improved to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in conference play following the win.
MLC will return to action in the new year when it hosts Northland on Friday, January 6. That game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
