MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team lost a non-conference game at Augsburg College 89-67 on Monday.

The Knights trailed 41-29 at the half thanks to a hot shooting start for the Auggies. Augsburg opened the first half 6-16 from beyond the three-point line, while the Knights made only one of their five attempts from downtown before the break.

The Auggies continued to roll on offense in the second half, shooting 64.3 percent from the field to pull away on the way to the win.

Augsburg finished the game shooting 56.1 percent, while MLC shot 39 percent from the field. The Knights made seven three-point field goals in the second half, but were unable to match the Auggies' total of 12 for the game.

Josh Tomlin led MLC with 16 points off the bench. Tomlin made four of his six attempts from distance and five of his eight attempts from the field overall. 

T.J. Babinec led the MLC starters with ten points, while Jeffrey Parker finished with nine points to go with his team highs in both assists (six) and rebounds (five).

The Knights fell to 1-6 on the season in defeat, while Augsburg improved its record to 4-3 with the win.

MLC will return to action on Friday, December 9, when it travels to Crown College for a game scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
