ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team struggled on both ends of the court in an 82-42 defeat at Northwestern on Friday.
The Eagles began to pull away late in the first half, turning a four-point advantage into a 38-21 halftime lead thanks to a 17-4 run over the final seven minutes of the first half.
Northwestern continued to roll in the second half, shooting 60.0 percent from the field while the Knights struggled on the offensive end.
UNW ended the game shotting 62.3 percent overall, and also went 7-21 from beyond the three-point arc. MLC shot 32.1 percent from the field, and made only two of its 11 attempts from downtown.
T.J. Babinec led MLC with 11 points in the game.

Todd Brassow each scored eight points.
MLC fell to 1-21 on the season and 1-12 in UMAC play in defeat. UNW improved its record to 19-3 overall and 11-2 in conference play with the win.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, February 13) when they travel to North Central for a game scheduled to tip off at 3 p.m.
