NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against St. Scholastica by the scores of 8-0 and 10-2 Saturday.
GAME 1
The Knights were unable to generate much at the plate in a 8-0 game one loss in five innings.
The Saints jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after two innings, and then added their final four runs in the fourth frame to put the game away.
Kathryn Marquardt started the game for MLC and fell to 3-6 on the season in defeat after allowing eight runs on 11 hits in 5.0 innings.
Janelle Radue and 
Jessica Friebe each finished with one hit for MLC at the plate.
GAME 2
The Saints were able to complete the sweep of the doubleheader with a 10-2 win in game two.
MLC trailed 3-0 after four innings, but the Saints were able to put the game out of reach with a five-run fifth inning. All five runs were unearned thanks to a pair of errors that extended the inning.
Amanda Schoch started the game for MLC and went all seven innings, allowing ten runs (five earned) on 14 hits and six walks as she fell to 2-4 on the season.
Friebe drove in both MLC runs with the two-run single in the fifth inning that scored Marquardt and Oliva Knudsen. Friebe led MLC with a pair of hits in the game. Marquardt and 
Megan Lemke each finished with one hit.
MLC fell to 6-13 overall, and 3-5 in UMAC play, following the two defeats. The two-game sweep improved the Saints' record to 12-10 on the season, and 4-0 in conference play.
The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 19, when they host Minnesota Morris in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
