MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team earned its first win of the season against Iowa Wesleyan by the score of 1-0 Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
The Knights scored the game's only goal in the tenth minute, when
Ethan Schultz scored off a pass from
Joseph Graumann to give the Knights the lead.
MLC controlled the game on the stat sheet, outshooting the Tigers 17-6 overall and 9-2 in shots on goal.
Goalkeepers
Caleb King and
Gabriel Plocher combined for the shutout, with King registering the only two saves required.Â
Graumann led MLC with four total shots, including two shots on goal. Schultz,
Josh Koelpin and
Elijah Kroll each finished with two shots.
MLC moved to 1-1 on the season with the win, while IWC fell to 1-1 in defeat.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Sunday, September 4) when they play at Wisconsin Lutheran College. That game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
