MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team remained unbeaten in UMAC play thanks to a 4-1 win at North Central on Tuesday.
The two teams were tied 1-1 at the half, with
Morgan Hill scoring her fourth goal of the season for the Knights.
MLC took control in the second half, scoring three times while holding the Rams scoreless.
Lydia Bitter scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 55th minute to give the team a one-goal lead, and
Hailey Johnson scored a pair of goals after that to push the final margin to three. Bitter's goal was her team-leading seventh, while Johnson's two tallies bumped her season total to three.
Both teams were credited with 10 shots in the game, with MLC holding a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. Johnson led the Knights with five total shots and three shots on goal.
Erin Feddersen stopped four of the five shots she faced in goal for MLC.
MLC improved to 5-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in UMACÂ play with the win. NCU fell to 4-6 on the season and 1-5 in league play in defeat.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, October 7, when they travel to St. Scholastica. That game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
