ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team lost 2-0 at Crown College on Wednesday.
The Knights entered the game on the roll after its big win against St. Scholastica over the weekend, but were unable to generate enough on the offensive attack.
Crown opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a goal on just its second shot of the game to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Knights battled but were unable to break through on the scoreboard in the second half before the Storm added an insurance goal in the 88th minute to put the game away.
Aaron Swanson led the Knights with three shots, all of which were on goal.
Hugo Ugalde-Bemer and
Joel Koelpin each recorded a pair of shots.
Gabriel Plocher stopped two of the four shots he faced in goal for MLC.
The Knights fell to 4-7-2 on the season and 3-2-2 in UMAC play in defeat. Crown improved to 3-11-2 overall and 3-5 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Saturday, October 13, when it travels to UW-Superior for a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
