MORRIS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team scored an important 3-0 win at Minnesota Morris on Tuesday.
The Knights entered the game in sixth place in the UMAC standings and looking to rebound from a pair of defeats last week, and they responded with one of their best performances of the season.
Senior
Hugo Ugalde-Bemer was the star offensively for MLC, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on the third. He also led the team with six total shots, including four shots on goal.
Ugalde-Bemer opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a goal off a pass from
Dan Wessel. As the teams neared halftime, the Knights struck again when Ugalde-Bemer found
Joshua Thiesfeldt in front of the net in the 44th minute to push the MLC lead to 2-0.Â
Already leading 2-0, Ugalde-Bemer put the game away in the 72nd minute with his second goal, this one coming off an assist from
Joe Graumann.

Gabriel Plocher stopped all four shots he faced on the way to recording his first career shutout.Â
The Knights improved to 5-8-2 overall and 4-3-2 in UMAC play with the win. UMM fell to 5-9-3 on the season and 5-3-2 in league play in defeat.Â
MLC will return to action on Saturday, October 20, when it travels to Northwestern-St. Paul for a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
