ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team continues its string of tough losses with a 1-0 defeat at Northwestern-St. Paul on Saturday.

The Knights have now lost three straight games (and four of their last five) by the final score of 1-0, and have suffered six defeats in UMAC play by one goal.

Northwestern controlled possession for much of the match and was credited with 33 shots, but the MLC defense held the Eagles off the scoreboard until the final minutes.

Finally, in the 87th minute, UNW's Emily Currie scored to give the Eagles the win.

Mollie Fischer continued her strong season in goal by stopping nine of the Eagles' 10 shots on goal. 

MLC dropped to 3-13 overall and 3-7 in UMAC play with the loss. UNW improved to 7-6-1 on the season and 7-2-1 in league play with the win.

The Knights will return home for a match against Bethany Lutheran College on Wednesday, October 24. That game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
