NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team dropped its final game before the Christmas break by the score of 80-42 against UW-Superior on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets entered the game unbeaten in league play since joining the UMAC in the 2015-16 season, and played well on both ends of the floor. UWS shot 42.6 percent from the field and went 8-20 from beyond the three point arc. The Knights countered by shooting 28.8 percent overall, and also struggled from the charity stripe by making only nine of 20 attempts.
Emily Witkowski led the way for MLC with 19 points on 7-15 from the field and 2-6 from beyond the three-point arc. She also grabbed seven rebounds.
Faith Otte joined Witkowski in double figures with 10 points.
Kati Aguilar led the team with 10 rebounds, while
Sarah Dewey finished with five assists.Â
MLC fell to 1-10 on the season and 1-3 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, January 2, when they travel to St. Scholastica for a game scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
