LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team was unable to generate anything on the offensive end in a 4-0 loss at Viterbo University on Wednesday.
The V-Hawks jumped in front early, scoring in the 18th minute and then adding a second goal in the 23rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The second half brought more of the same, as the V-Hawks scored two goals in the first three minutes out of the break to build the lead to the final four-goal margin.
The Knights were held to only two shots, with
Emily Witkowski and
Lydia Bitter each recording one.
In goal,
Mollie Fischer stopped 14 of the 18 Viterbo shots on goal.
MLC fell to 1-8 on the season in defeat. Viterbo improved to 5-5 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on October 2 when they face North Central in a conference game scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
