MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team was unable to slow down the Rams of North Central University in an 80-46 loss on Thursday.
The Knights trailed 10-7 early in the first quarter, but the Rams put the game away with a 37-3 run that last over 10 minutes as the Knights were unable to slow down the Rams on offense or generate offense of their own on the other end.
NCU finished the game shooting 47.6 percent from the field and committed only 11 turnovers. Haleigh Filer and Allison Bulthuis led four Rams in double figures with 19 points apiece.
Faith Otte led the charge for MLC with 15 points.
Emily Witkowski joined her in double figures with 10 points and added eight rebounds, while
Cassandra Rose finished with a team-best eight rebounds.
MLC fell to 1-19 on the season and 1-11 in UMAC play in defeat. NCU improved to 13-7 overall and 7-5 in league action.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, February 2, when they host St. Scholastica in a game scheduled to tip off at 3 p.m.
