DULUTH, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team fell 2-0 at St. Scholastica on Friday.
The Knights battled the Saints to a scoreless first half with the help of seven saves from
Joshua Higgins in goal.
In the second half, the Saints continued to press forward and finally got on the board in the 64th minute on a goal from Nolan Friday.
MLC kept within one until the 83rd minute, when he Saints' Alex Dodd scored a big insurance goal off a free kick just outside the box to give CSS the final two-goal margin.
Higgins finished the game with 10 saves for the Knights. MLC was credited with three shots, with
Joe Graumann,
Nate Lemke and
Joel Schewe each finishing with one apiece.
MLC fell to 3-9-2 overall and 1-3-0 in UMAC play in defeat. CSS improved to 5-11-0 overall and 5-1-0 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return home on Tuesday, October 15, when they host Minnesota Morris in a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
