DULUTH, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost 3-0 at St. Scholastica on Friday.
The Saints took control of the game from the start, scoring in the fourth minute to take a 1-0 lead, and then adding a second goal in the 33rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
MLC withstood the Saints' pressure early in the second half, but CSS was able to score on more insurance goal in the 70th minute to finish the scoring and secure the win.
The Saints controlled possession for much of the game and were credited with 24 shots, including eight shots on goal. MLC keeper
Mollie Fischer stopped five of the eight shots she faced.Â
Abby Enstad was credited with the lone MLC shot on goal in the game.
The Knights fell to 5-6-0 on the season and 2-1-0 in UMAC play with the loss. St. Scholastica improved to 8-6-0 overall and 5-0-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, October 15, when it hosts Minnesota Morris in a game scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
