ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost its non-conference game at Crown College 2-1 on Wednesday night.
The two teams played in the cold and rain throughout the night, but MLC took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by
Lydia Bitter in the eighth minute.
That lead would be short lived, however, as the Storm scored in the 29th minute to send the game to halftime 1-1.
MLC pressed in the second half, but Crown would score the lone goal after the break in the 55th minute on the way to the win.
Bitter's goal was her team-leading fifth of the season, and she also finished with a game-high seven shots. The Knights outshot the Storm 25-13 overall and 7-5 in shots on goal.
MLC keeper
Mollie Fischer stopped three of the five shots she faced in goal.
The Knights fell to 4-5 on the season in defeat, while the Storm improved to 4-5 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Saturday, October 5, when it hosts UW-Superior in a game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
