MILWAUKEE - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team was unable to hold onto a fourth quarter lead in a 60-58 loss at Mount Mary on Saturday.
The Knights started strong and took a 25-18 lead into the half, but the Blue Angels cut the lead to four points after three quarters.
MLC built a seven-point lead at 50-43 with just over four minutes to play, but Mount Mary roared back with a 13-0 run over the next three minutes to take a six-point lead.
In the final minute, the Knights came back to tie the game with six seconds to play on a three-pointer by 
Ally Platzer, but the Blue Angels' Erica Williams drew a foul with five seconds to play and made both free throws to win the game.
The two teams were even offensively, shooting similar percentages and struggling with turnovers. 
Emily Witkowski led MLC with 19 points to go with eight rebounds. 
Cassandra Rose finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Erika Gosh scored 10 points and recorded three steals.
MLC fell to 0-7 on the season in defeat. Mount Mary improved to 3-3 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, December 4, when they start UMAC play with a home game against Bethany Lutheran. That game is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
