LAKEVILLE, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team swept North Central University 9-0 in the first match of the conference season on Wednesday at Lifetime Fitness Center.
Much like they did in a non-conference match against the Rams on February 19, the Knights dominated the action in both singles and doubles. MLC lost only seven games in the non-conference match last week, and cut that number to five in Wednesday's match.
All three doubles teams won their matches by the score of 8-0 to give the Knights a 3-0 edge to start.
In singles,
Josh Koelpin and
Seth Koelpin both took home 6-0, 6-0 wins,
Jonah Schulz,
Joshua Schroeder and
Caleb Koelpin each dropped just one game in their wins, while Nicholas Gartner won his number two singles match 6-2, 6-0.
MLC improved to 3-4 on the season and 1-0 in UMAC play with the win. NCU fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in league play in defeat.
The Knights do not have any matches scheduled for nearly four weeks and are scheduled to return to action on March 23 at UW-River Falls.
