WAVERLY, Iowa - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost 9-0 at Wartburg College in its first action in a month on Wednesday.

The Knights fell behind early in doubles after dropping the three matches by the scores of 8-4, 8-4 and 8-1. 

In singles, Wartburg finished the sweep thanks to five straight sets wins. Joshua Schroeder battled to a third set in number-four singles, but lost 6-2, 7-6, 6-2.

MLC fell to 3-5 on the season in defeat, while Wartburg improved to 8-6 with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, March 30, when they resume UMAC play with a match at UW-Superior scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
