WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team dropped the first of two games on a weekend trip in Wisconsin at Carroll University by the score of 5-1 on Friday.
The Knights fell behind 2-0 early, but the cut the deficit in half thanks to a penalty kick goal by
Nate Lemke in the 29th minute.
The deficit remained at one until the 73rd minute, when Carroll scored the first of three goals in an eight-minute span that put the game away.
Josiah Mittelstadt finished with nine saves out of the 14 shots he faced in goal for MLC.
Lemke and
Phil Balge each recorded one shot on goal for the MLC offense.
MLC fell to 2-3-1 on the season in defeat, while Carroll improved to 3-2 with the win.
The Knights will close their two-day trip tomorrow (Saturday, September 14) when they play at Wisconsin Lutheran College. That game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
