MILWAUKEE - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team closed its two-day trip to Wisconsin with a 2-0 loss at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday.
The Warriors broke the scoreless tie in the 30th minute on a goal from Jason Cano from outside the box to take a 1-0 lead into the half.
Early in the second half, WLC added its insurance tally after a shot from Trevor Millonzi hit the cross bar and rolled over the goal to give the Warriors the final 2-0 margin.
Josiah Mittelstadt helped the Knights hang in the game until the end with six saves on eight WLC shots on goal.
On the offensive end for MLC,
Joe Graumann was credited with a team-best two shots, while
Lucas Martin had the lone MLC shot on goal.
The Knights fell to 2-4-1 on the season in defeat, while WLC improved to 4-1 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, September 17, when it hosts Bethany Lutheran in a non-conference game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
