NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team lost non-conference play to Bethany Lutheran by the score of 7-0 on Tuesday.

The speed and skill of the Vikings were too much for the MLC defense in the first half as BLC scored five times before the break. First-year forward Max Busch scored three times in the opening 27 minutes, and the Vikings added two more goals right before the half.

The Knights slowed the game down in the second half and generated more possession and shots on goal, but the Vikings were still able to score twice (including a fourth goal by Busch).

MLC finished with six total shots, three of which were on goal. Josh Higgins started the game in goal for MLC and finished with three saves.

The Knights fell to 2-5-1 on the season in defeat, while BLC improved to 4-2 with the win.

MLC will return to action on Saturday, September 21, when it hosts Viterbo in a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
