Knights Score Two Late Goals in OT Win at NCU

MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team overcame a late deficit to win 2-1 in overtime at North Central on Saturday.

The Knights trailed 1-0 after 81 minutes of play before sophomore Xander Heiman scored off a pass from Lucas Martin in the 82nd minute to send the game into overtime.

In the extra period, Mark Burger netted the game winner off a Martin throw-in 81 seconds into overtime to give the Knights the win.

Heiman's goal was the first of his college career, while Burger's game-winner was the second of the season.

The Knights outshot the Rams 23-16 overall and 16-9 in shots on goal for the game. Sophomore keeper Joshua Higgins allowed a goal in the 22nd minute, but stopped the eight remaining NCU shots to help the Knights to the win.
