MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team opened he UMAC schedule with a 2-0 win at North Central University on Saturday.

The teams remained scoreless until early in the second half when Lydia Bitter scored off an assist from Nicole Porter in the 59th minute to give MLC the 1-0 edge.

In the 67th minute, Bitter assisted on a goal by Erika Rosenbaum to give the Knights the two-goal cushion. 

Mollie Fischer continued her stellar season with her fourth shutout of the season after stopped all four NCU shots on goal.

Bitter's goal was her team-leading fourth of the season, while Rosenbaum netted her second tally of the year.

MLC improved to 4-4 on the season and 1-0 in UMAC play with the win. NCU fell to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in league play in defeat. 

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, October 2, when they travel to Crown College for a game scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
