MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team could not keep pace with UW-La Crosse in a 64-27 loss on Saturday to close the two-day Paul F. Knueppel Classic hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College.
For the second straight day at the event, the Knights could not get going offensively as they were held to 10 or fewer points in each of the four quarters.
UW-La Crosse struggled from the outside, making five of 24 attempts from beyond the three-ponit arc, but made up for it with 32 points in the paint, and also turned 24 MLC turnovers in 17 points.
The Knights finished the game shooting 19.2 percent from the field, with
Jordyn Heckendorf leading the team with eight points and six rebounds.
MLC fell to 1-3 on the season in defeat. UW-La Crosse improved to 3-0 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Monday, November 15, when they host Saint Mary's in a game scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
