SUPERIOR, WIs. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team opened the 2021 season with a 9-0 defeat at UW-Superior in non-conference action on Sunday.
The Knights opened the match in doubles competition, where UWS took the three matches 8-1, 8-7 and 8-3. The number two team of
Benjamin Foss and
Josiah Wordell were able to force a tie-breaker, but ultimately lost that tie-breaker 10-8.
In singles play, the Yellowjackets were able to take all six matches in straight sets.
MLC opened the season 0-1 overall, while UWS improved to 1-0.
The Knights will return to action for the start on UMAC play on March 27, when they travel to play St. Scholastica at 1 p.m.
