VIRGINIA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team opened the UMAC schedule with a 9-0 defeat to St. Scholastica at the Virginia Tennis and Pickleball Club.
The Saints jumped out in front early during doubles play, winning those three matches by the scores of 8-3, 8-0 and 8-4.
In singles play, CSS was able to sweep all six matches in straight sets to secure the 9-0 overall win.
The Knights fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in UMAC play in defeat. CSS improved to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, March 30, when it hosts Bethany Lutheran in a non-conference match starting at 2 p.m.
