Saints Top MLC Women

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost to St. Scholastica 11-0 on Saturday.

The Saints jumped in front in the seventh minute and never looked back, scoring seven times in the first half and then adding four more goals in the second half.

Morgan Friday had a big day for the Saints, scoring four goals on 12 shots (nine on goal) and adding three assists for 11 points in the game.

Seven other CSS players scored one goal, while Kaiya Quam and Elisa Galyen each added two assists to go with their goal.

Mollie Fischer started in goal for MLC and stopped 15 shots. Hannah Schroeder and Madeline Walz each finished with a pair of shots on goal.

MLC fell to 0-3 on the season and in UMAC play in defeat, while CSS improved to 3-0 overall and in league play with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 13, when they travel to Minnesota Morris for a game scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
