MORRIS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost 8-1 in non-conference action at Minnesota Morris on Thursday.
UMM jumped out to a 2-1 lead following doubles play, as the first two matches went the Cougars' way by the scores of 8-4 and 8-4. In number-three doubles, the team of
Charis Glende and
Hannah Broring won 8-6 to secure a point for the Knights.
In singles play, UMM won the first five matches in straight sets, while Broring fell in three sets (6-7, 6-4, 1-0) in number-six singles.
MLC fell to 0-4 on the season in defeat, while UMM improved to 4-4 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 20, when they travel to Northwestern-St. Paul for a match scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
