NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College baseball team lost both games of its doubleheader against Crown College the scores of 11-0 and 11-0 on Tuesday.
The weather was difficult for both teams, with winds consistently blowing over 30 miles per hour and making like hard on everyone.
The MLC defense struggled in the conditions, committing 13 errors in the two games (seven in game one, six in game two), and the Storm consistently made the Knights pay for their mistakes, scoring five unearned runs in each game (10 total).Â
Michael Fromm (0-3) started game one for MLC and took the loss, allowing nine runs (six earned) on eight hits in 5.0 innings.
Micah Larsen (0-3) got the game-two start and allowed seven runs (three earned) on three hits and three walks in 3.1 innings.
Jackson Lindemann led the MLC hitters in game one with two hits.
Joey Behm went 3-3 in game two with three singles.
MLC fell to 0-9 on the season and 0-4 in UMAC play following the two losses. Crown improved to 13-17 overall and 6-4 in league play following the sweep.
The Knights will return to action on Thursday, April 22, when they travel to Northwestern for a doubleheader. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 4 p.m.
