Baseball Loses Two at CSS

DULUTH, Minn. - The Martin Luther College baseball team could not contain the bats from the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) in a pair of losses on Saturday by the scores of 19-5 and 11-0.

MLC pitchers struggled to find the strike zone in the opener as they walked 20 Saints' hitters in defeat. Michael Fromm (0-6) allowed 12 of the runs to open the game before Will Rauh and Aaron Bode pitched the final four frames in relief.

Reagon Moore (0-2) took the loss in game two after going the first 3.1 innings and allowing seven runs on five hits and four walks.

Jackson Lindemann and Caleb Heckendorf each drove in two runs in game one, while Mason Cox recorded singles in each of his first three at bats.

MLC was held to four hits in game two, with Jonas Lindemann, Joey Behm, Zachary Klement and Moore each recording one.

MLC fell to 0-17 on the season and 0-12 in UMAC play after the two losses. CSS improved to 13-5 overall and 9-3 in league play with the sweep.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, May 4, when they travel to Bethany Lutheran for a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
