FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Martin Luther College volleyball team dropped its final non-conference tune-up 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 28-26) at Waldorf on Saturday.
The Warriors took 2-0 following the first two sets, but the Knights fought back in the hopes of extending the match.
The two teams went back and forth in that set, with the Knights even reaching a set point opportunity at 24-23, but Waldorf was able to close strong to secure the three-set win.
MLC hit .159 on the attack for the match, with
Lauren Paulsen,
Hannah Willems and
Abigail Winkel each credited with four kills apiece.Â
Kylie Wolf was credited with 11 assists to lead the team, while
Kelsey Birschbach recorded a pair of service aces.
MLC fell to 1-8 on the season in defeat, while Waldorf improved to 7-5 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, September 21, when they travel to Bethany Lutheran College for the start of UMAC play. That match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
