SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team kept UW-Superior (UWS) scoreless for one half, but could not contain them in the second in a 3-0 defeat on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets were credited with 14 shots compared to two for the Knights in the first half, but
Grace Sievert stopped all eight UWS shots on goal to keep the game scoreless through the first 45 minutes.
UWS finally broke free in the second half, scoring its first goal in the 56th minute, and then adding insurance tallies in the 65th and 84th minutes to get the final margin.
Sievert kept the Knights in the game, stopping 16 of the Yellowjackets' 19 shots on goal for the game.

Madeline Walz were each credited with one shot for MLC.
The Knights fell to 1-6-0 on the season and 0-3-0 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 4-3-0 overall and 2-0-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, September 28, when it hosts Northwestern in a game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
