The MLC Knights lost on a last-second field goal to UMAC preseason favorite Greenville, 30-27, in a UMAC road game in Greenville, Ill., on Saturday.
The Knights started strong with an opening drive which ended in a a TD and 6-0 lead. Greenville responded quickly and tied the game up at 6-6. Both teams exchanged long drives for touchdowns to end the half tied 13-13. The Knights had a long TD run called back because of off-setting penalties seconds before the half.
The Knights took a 20-13 lead in the third quarter on a 9 yd. TD run by backup quarterback

Rees Roecker extended the Knights lead to 27-13 on a 37-yd TD run early in the 4th quarter. The Greenville Panthers would score 17 unanswered points to secure the win. The Panthers field goal with three seconds left was the game wiinner. The Knights got a hand on the kick, but it wobbled through the uprights as time ran out.

Paul Huebner said the Knights played hard to the buzzer, but couldn't contain the Panthers's big plays. Starting QB
Max Nordlie left the gzme in the second quarter with an ankle injury.Â
Despite missing half the game, Nordlie led the Knights with 88 yards rushing, He was a perfect 4-4 passing with another 69 yards,
Mason Cox had one reception for 45 yards and
Elijah Henning had a 73 yard punt return.Â
Nathan Golisch had two interceptions and along with
David Baumann led the Knights with 6 tackles.
The Knights fall to 0-5 on the season and o-1 in the UMAC. They return home to face UMAC opponent Crown College for Homecoming next Saturday.Â
