The MLC women's soccer team defeated North Central University 4-1 on Saturday in a road match in Minneapolis.
MLC scored at the 15' mark on an unassisted goal by
Kaitlin Butler.
Hannah Schroeder would close out the Knight scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal at the 30' mark to give MLC a 2-1 halftime lead. MLC would continue to control the game with two more scores in the second half. The Knights added two goals just three minutes apart at 65' by
Lydia Krenke, assisted by a
Nicole Porter cross pass, and at 68' by
Madeline Walz, assisted by
Hannah Schroeder.
Grace Sievert had seven saves in the net for the Twenty Knights players saw action on the field in the win. Coach Schone said, "We played a solid game, controlled possessions, and took advantage of every offensive opportunity. Our defense played really solid--a great team win." Anna Borgwardt on the defensive side.
The Knights moved to 4-5-1 on the season and 2-3 in the UMAC. The Knights have two important matches coming up later this week against Crown and UM-Morris.
