The MLC men lost their opening exhibition game against Mayville State 118-72.
The Knights found themselves down early 14-0 before finally scoring their first basket 5 minutes into the game. The Knights closed the gap to 23-18 a few minutes later, but found themselves down 40-25 with 6 minutes left in the first half. The Knights couldn't recover, ending the half behind 63-40.
The second half began slowly for both teams, but the Knights gradually fell farther behind to end the game on the short end.
The Knights were unable to keep pace with their opponents in the paint and on the boards. Mayville scored 33 fast break points compared to just two for the Knights. The Knights also turned the ball over 26 times.
