A tough shooting night did in the MLC Men's basketball team at Macalester on Tuesday night. The Knights shot just 30.9% from the field as the rigid Macalester defense forced 24 turnovers.
The Knights jumped out to a six-point lead as Ezra Blumer scored 7 of the Knights first 9 points. However, just past the halfway mark the Scots had a 14 point lead of their own as they took a 56-32 lead into halftime. This lead was insurmountable in the second half as the Knights fell 91-53.Â
The Knights had three players in double figures, Ezra Blumer led with 15 points. Macalester was led by Caleb Williams's 17 points and 6 steals. The Scots' defense was the star of the night as they had 16 steals and 9 blocks in a strong defensive performance.Â
The Knights fell to (0-1,0-0 UMAC) and Macalester started the season (1-0,0-0 MIAC). The Knights return to action on Friday, November 11th for a 3 P.M. tip-off vs Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee, WI.Â
