MLC women's basketball couldn't survive the second-half barrage from UW--La Crosse on Tuesday Night, falling 76-45. The Knights started strong and traded the lead with the Eagles several times in the first half. The Knights held the lead early in the second quarter after a pair of three-point baskets by Jordyn Heckendorf and Grace Kieselhorst.
The Eagles cruised through the second half of Tuesday's contest, out scoring the knights 19-7 in the third quarter and 13-5 in the fourth. The Knights hurt themselves with 22 turnovers which resulted in fast break points for the Eagles. The Knights opened with a stiff defense against the more experienced opponent, but several bad passes forced by their press put the Knights down by 11 at the half. For the game , the Knights gave up too many points in the paint and points off turnovers to stay with the Eagles.
The Knights were led by Emma Nelson with a 10 point effort and Lydia Feidt with 9 points of her own. The Eagles had three players in double digits, with Gabby Ritchie leading the way with 16.
The Knights return to action Friday, November 11th, at Mount Mary for a 5 P.M. tip off.
