New Ulm, MN - The Knights faced off against the
UW-Superior Yellow Jackets in their second UMAC game of the season.
Seth Veers led the Knights with 20 points and was relentless at the rim, getting there with ease whenever he wanted. However, the play from Veers would not be enough as the Yellowjackets displayed nice athleticism in the backcourt, making things difficult for MLC's offense to get a decent shot off. The Knights had 12 turnovers in the first half as a result of the swarming defense and the Yellowjackets capitalized on those miscues from MLC, defeating the Knights
94-58.
UW-Superior was led in scoring by
Josef Fahrenholtz, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half. The forward did his damage on post move shots from the free throw lane and mid-range. J'Vaun Walker was also a key player for the Yellowjackets, distributing the ball to the open man in half court sets and in transition. The run and gun style for UW-Superior was too much for MLC to keep up with and the Yellowjackets outscored the Knights (23-8) in fast break points.
MLC
(0-10, 0-2) will return to action on (Friday, December 16th), when they travel to Beloit for a nonconference matchup.
