OWATONNA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost its final non-conference tune-up on Wednesday 7-2 to UW-Stout at the Owatonna Tennis Center.
The Blue Devils started the match strong, winning the three doubles games by the scores of 8-5, 8-3 and 8-6 to take a 3-0 overall lead.
MLC tried to come back in singles play, as
Charis Glende (6-2, 6-2) and
Sarah Hoffe (6-2, 6-0) each won in straight sets, but the Blue Devils were able to take the other four games in straight sets to secure the overall win.
The Knights fell to 0-3 on the season in defeat. UW-Stout improved to 7-6 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Sunday, March 27, when it travels to UW-Superior for the start of UMAC competition.Â
