SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team opened the conference portion of its schedule with a 9-0 loss at UW-Superior (UWS) on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets took control from the start in doubles play, winning all three matches by the scores of 8-2, 8-2 and 8-4.
In singles play, UWS won five of the six matches in straight sets, while number-five singles player
Sarah Hoffe (2-6, 7-5, 1-0) lost in three sets.
The Knights fell to 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 2-11 overall and 1-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action with a non-conference match at Cornell on Thursday, March 31, at 1:00 p.m.
