NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost to first-place University of Northwestern-St. Paul (UNW) 8-1 at home on Monday.

The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles thanks to a sweep by the scores of 8-2, 8-2 and 8-2.

In singles, UNW took the top five matches in straight sets, but Marcus Sims scored the Knights' lone point with a three-set win in his number-six match 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-7).

MLC fell to 0-7 on the season and 0-3 in UMAC play in defeat. UNW improved to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in league play with the win.

The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Tuesday, April 12) when they host Bethany Lutheran College.
