NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team returned home for an 8-1 defeat to University of Minnesota Morris (UMM) on Monday.
First-year player
Sarah Hoffe accounted for the lone MLC point, winning her number-five singles match 6-1, 6-0. The win was the third straight for Hoffe, and the sixth in her last seven singles matches.
The Cougars took the other eight points, however, winning the three doubles matches 8-4, 8-1 and 8-4, and then taking the other five singles matches in straight sets.
The Knights fell to 1-10 on the season and 1-5 in UMAC play in defeat. UMM improved to 5-5 overall and 4-2 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Wednesday, April 27, when it hosts Bethany Lutheran College in a match scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
