NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost its return match with Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) 9-0 on Wednesday in the final home match of the season.
The Vikings raced to a quick start with three doubles wins by the scores of 8-0, 8-3 and 8-6.
In singles, BLC won five of the six doubles matches in straight sets, while MLC's
Josiah Wordell pushed his match to three sets before losing 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).
MLC dropped to 1-12 on the season and 1-6 in UMAC play in defeat. BLC improved to 7-6 overall and 4-4 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, April 30, when they travel to Northwestern-St. Paul in the final match of the regular season. That match is scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m.
