WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost 9-0 to first-place University of Northwestern (UNW) at Lifetime Fitness Center on Saturday.
The Knights nearly scratched out a point in number-one doubles, but the team of 
McKenzey Crowley and 
Josephine Bieberitz lost 8-7 in a tiebreaker.
The Eagles rolled from there, winning the other two doubles matches 8-0 and 8-1, and then taking all six singles matches in straight sets.
The Knights finished the regular season 1-14 with a UMAC record of 1-7 after the defeat. UNW improved to 17-3 overall and 6-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action in the opening round of the UMAC Tennis Championships next weekend, where it will play as the fourth seed in the tournament.
